At the Nonprofit Technology Conference in Atlanta last week, Gregory Heller of Civic Actions organized a panel on working with open source software and vendors. I was honored to represent the vendor point of view, alongside Dave Greenberg of CiviCRM (developer), and Sarah Davies of ACLU of Washington (client). Slides are here.

After the session I was stopped by an NTEN reporter. I shared my thoughts and experiences on why it's beneficial for nonprofits and open source vendors/developers to work together. There are a lot of reasons, of course, but they mostly come back to the likelihood of a shared goal (making the world a better place). They often share the desire to be part of something bigger, a more significant impact. If by working together we can make more of a difference, we should!
